While office I treat a variety of common mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, my expertise and passion are rooted in the human relationship; specifically, how we connect with ourselves and others.

My approach is based firmly in the belief that you have the ability to heal and change when you are treated with warmth, compassion, and respect. My work as a therapist provides a unique opportunity to be of assistance in facilitating the growth and transformation that often arise out of painful experiences, losses, and transitions.

I take a collaborative approach to therapy, helping clients connect to their own sense of resiliency through providing a nurturing relationship based on respect and acceptance. When we take the opportunity to reflect in a safe space, we open ourselves up to the rewarding possibility of connecting to ourselves and our world from a place of conscious choice, while also recognizing beliefs and that may be inhibiting our growth and fulfillment. This can lead to greater satisfaction with ourselves and a sense empowerment in our personal and professional relationships.

Together, we will take a multifaceted treatment approach: develop a deep understanding of the ways in which your life experiences have shaped who you are today, while taking concrete steps to change your habitual ways of being. I incorporate different techniques depending on your needs and issues, but the ultimate goal is the same: real and lasting change.

The following are the treatment philosophies that most influence my work:

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Provides insight into unconscious motivations that drive your current life choices, behaviors, and actions.  These insights can free you to respond to life situations with intention rather than to react unconsciously.

Humanistic Approach

Encourages you to cultivate an open and compassionate relationship to yourself.  Having an attitude of self-acceptance is crucial to making positive changes in your life.

Mindfulness Therapy

Encourages individuals to actively and non-judgmentally observe their thoughts, feelings, and sensations, allowing one to live fully and presently in each moment.

Biopsychosocial Model

The belief that psychological (thoughts, emotions, and behaviors), biological, social, as well as spiritual aspects of one’s life all contribute to an individual’s overall health and wellness.

There is hope. There is help.
